In the official Club statement, “The Club management committee of Santos had received on Saturday night a statement from the player “Neymar” informing them his decision of accepting Barcelona offer and such the procedures of his move to the Spanish Club will happen in the coming days.”
The statement mentioned the magnificent role that Santos played to keep “Neymar” for years. Santos did his best to face the offers, that the player received from other Clubs, including a presentation renewal of his current contract ended (July 2014). However, it was not possible compete the offers which in turn reflected on Neymar’s decision to reconsider his career.
Neymar and Santos are connected over a decade since his arrival to the young players’ categories. They had a series of success over years.
In the end according to the website: "The club say goodbye to star and wished him successful journey, assuring that (Belmiro Villa) will continue to be his second home and that he is welcome to return whenever he wants."
